We're 1 Month Old!

Mom and Dad say it's hard to believe we're already one month old. Even though we've only lived at home for a couple days, we've still had a lot of fun so far. At Swedish Hospital and here at Children's Hospital, we get lots of attention. All the nurses want to hold and feed us, and they fight over who gets to take care of us each day. Mom and Dad let the nurses feed and change us at nighttime so they can sleep.  They better not get too used to this because we'll be hungry at night when we go home too!

We get lots of attention from family and friends too.  Grandma and Grandpa Lund have been here a lot, and Grandma Jeannie is coming back this weekend. Uncle Pete and Great Aunt Janis have come to visit us, as well as some of our parents' friends.  We can't wait to meet Auntie Courtney and Grandpa George in a few weeks!

We are growing fast - we've each put on about one pound since birth. (Emma is 5 lbs, 10 oz and Mia is 5 lbs, 6 oz.)  We are very strong and like to grasp Mom and Dad's fingers really tightly. We also like to lift our heads up to look around, whether we're on our back in bed or on our tummy. We love our pacifiers, but our hands will do the trick too.  We make the cutest noises and smile a lot, even with our eyes open. Although we don't get to hang out together too much because we're in separate cribs, we like to keep Mom and Dad on their toes with our secret twin language. We coordinated efforts the last few nights to drive them crazy!

Yesterday we both got to take baths, which we liked for the most part. It was a little chilly getting out of the tub, but now we're all nice and clean.  Our hair looks light these days, so maybe we'll be blonde like Daddy. Our eyes are dark slate blue right now, but they will change too.  Mom and Dad are very curious about our hair and eye color, but they'll have to wait a little bit. 

We don't know when we'll get to go home yet.  Some nice ladies made us sleeping wedges that keep us on an incline to help keep our food down. They even made us a double bed so we can sleep next to each other.  We also take some yucky medicine and Mom and Dad thicken our milk so it goes down easily and stays down.  They tell us it's like drinking a milkshake, whatever that is. We think all these things are helping us, but we really just need a little time.  After all, we shouldn't even be born yet.
