The girls are home! We all passed our overnight hospital stay with flying colors. Matt and I kept up with the girls' schedules just fine. Their feedings were an hour apart, so we took turns taking care of them. In the morning, after visits from an occupational therapist and nutritionist, the doctor took the nurses' and other experts' recommendation to send both girls home. Everyone told us how rare it is for both twins to come home at the same time, so we were ecstatic!
We piled in the car and headed to Ballard this afternoon. The girls slept through their first car ride, unimpressed by this new experience and the beautiful, sunny day. Once we got them home and fed (on the same schedule, at least for now), we put them in their playpen together. This was the first time they've been together since they were born, so we were anxious to seem them interact. It didn't take long for them to get reacquainted, and it was fascinating to watch. The only trouble is they are spending more time playing than sleeping, so we'll see how tonight goes.
Matt and I are definitely nervous to take care of these two precious little girls, but very happy and relieved to be home. It's nice to have the four of us together finally.
We're off to catch some zzzz's before the midnight feeding.

I have really enjoying keeping up on the progress of your little girls. They are beautiful little angels! Again, congratulations on all the accomplishments the girls have made thus far... you'll continue to marvel at their growth and development each and every day. This is such an exciting time for all of you!
