2000



- Megan rang in the New Millennium (Y2K) surrounded by friends at the house party she and her friends Melissa, Sarah and Carrie hosted at their rental home in Maple Leaf.
- Later that year, Megan met Matt for the first time at a Huksy tailgate party at the UW vs UCLA game.
- Matt & Megan spent New Year's Eve together at a party before the Huskies played in the Rose Bowl. (They were not dating yet, though.)
2001
- Matt & Megan both attended the Rose Bowl and watched the Huskies crush the Purdue Boilermakers, with none other than Drew Brees as QB for Purdue.
- Megan moved from Seattle to San Francisco, leaving her job at Edelman and starting a new one at The Loomis Group. She moved in with her friend Kara and quickly immersed herself in city life.
2002
- Matt & Megan met for the second time on a houseboat trip for the 4th of July on beautiful Lake Shasta in northern CA. They finally began dating, which involved several flights between Seattle and San Francisco.
2003
- Megan made the big move back to Seattle to be near Matt. Matt picked her up in San Francisco, and they drove north to Seattle, arriving at Megan's new apartment on New Year's Day.
- Matt turned 30 in February.
- Megan began a new job at JWT in March.
- Matt took a trip to South Africa for his friend's wedding, and had an amazing time.
- For Christmas, Matt surprised Megan with tickets to Paris!
2004
- Matt & Megan traveled to Paris, France in February (they arrived on Valentine's Day...aw). While there, Matt asked Megan to move in with him. She packed up her apartment in Fremont and moved into his condo in Greenwood a few months later.
- Megan began working for Starbucks in July.
- They took another big trip to Hawaii with Megan's mom and sister that summer.
2005
- Matt proposed to Megan on May 11 in his condo after she returned home from art class.

2006
- Matt & Megan bought their first house in January in the Ballard neighborhood of Seattle.
- They hosted a SuperBowl party to watch the Seahawks play the Steelers in February. Sadly, the Seahawks lost.
- Matt's parents, Donna & Arlie, celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary in June!
- Matt's brother, Pete, graduated from Evergreen with his Master's in Education, making it official that Matt & Megan are the only ones without teaching degrees on both sides of the family.
- Megan celebrated her engagement with friends and family at bridal showers in Seattle and San Diego, and a bachelorette party in Las Vegas in July.
- Matt's friends hosted a bachelor party for him at a cabin in Leavenworth for the weekend that summer.
- Matt & Megan got married on September 3. The celebration weekend included spa time for the girls, a Husky game for the guys, a lovely rehearsal dinner at Ray's Boathouse, and and amazing, unforgettable, perfect wedding day at the Seattle Tennis Club.

- Matt & Megan traveled to England, Spain and Portugal for 3 weeks for their honeymoon.

2007
- Megan joined Matt on a business trip to Washington, D.C. where they explored the sights and celebrated his birthday.
- Megan turned 30!

- Matt & Megan enjoyed summer vacations to Las Vegas and Lake Chelan to soak up the sun!

- Matt & Megan found out Megan was pregnant on August 9. In mid-September, they got the surprise of their life when they found out they were having identical, mono mono twins. They began sharing the news with family and friends, who were all as surprised as they were, but of course thrilled!
The parents-to-be
- In November, Matt & Megan found out they were having twin GIRLS!
- Matt & Megan celebrated the holidays at home with family, gearing up for Megan's hospital stay and the babies' arrival.
2008
- Megan spent January and February (1/3 - 2/28) on bedrest at Swedish hospital so the girls could be monitored. Matt stayed with her, sleeping on a tiny cot and and walking to/from work downtown each day.
- Emma and Mia were born on February 28!

- The girls spent the next 2 months in the hospital, first at Swedish, then at Children's Hospital.
- We were lucky to bring them home on April 28, and have the support of a wonderful night nurse, Linda and doula, Carla, not to mention our amazing families.
- We had many visitors, both family and friends, all anxious to meet the girls.
- Megan took 5 months off of work to spend with the girls; she returned to Starbucks in August.
- The family took two trips to San Diego so the girls could meet family and friends in July and September. They made their first visits to the beach and Fidel's - the most important places to hit in Solana Beach.
- Sadly, we lost Megan's Grandpa, George, in November. We are so glad he had the chance to meet his great granddaughters over the summer, and that we have photo and video of their visit.
- We celebrated Thanksgiving and Christmas at home with family. We also celebrated Grammy's engagement to Bob!
- Seattle had a massive snowstorm to end the year. We were snowed in the week before Christmas - very rare for Seattle, and especially Ballard. It was beautiful and peaceful, and a nice way to end the year.
2009
- Emma & Mia celebrated their first birthday, got a mouthful of teeth, started walking & talking, discovered Sesame Street and Elmo, expressed a love of singing and dancing and continued to amaze and impress their parents on a daily basis.
- Auntie Courtney and Kevin got engaged!
- Grammy and Bob got married in San Diego in May. They hosted a wonderful weekend for the family at the Hilton Mission Bay resort. We loved meeting and spending time with the extended Brice family from Dallas and Atlanta. Matt conducted the wedding ceremony, and we had a family dinner afterward, followed by a reception with friends the following day.
- We extended our stay in San Diego, and enjoyed visiting with the Goodson side of the family, as well.
- Our family spent a lovely 4th of July week at Lake Chelan with Grandma and Grandpa Lund and Unlce Pete.
- Starbucks VIA Ready Brew launched on September 29, 2009 - a day Megan will not forget!
- Megan celebrated 5 years with Starbucks and got a promotion to group marketing manager, after a very busy year working on the marketing plan for the launch of Starbucks VIA Ready Brew.
- Matt celebrated a decade with the Attorney General's Office.
- Matt completed his Master's in Public Administration. Now he goes by Matthew Lund, J.D.M.P.A.
- We enjoyed a wonderful Christmas at home with the girls.
- The four of us ended the decade together at a party surrounded by friends. We might not have made it to midnight, but we closed out 2009 on a high note.
It's amazing to look back and see how instrumental this decade was in forming out family. We are so grateful for everything we have today, and will always treasure these last 10 years. It's so exciting to think about the endless possibilities for our next 10 years together. Here we come, 2010! (pronounced twenty-ten, I'm told)
